Ciao landlubbers, after the hardcore "Mad East Challenge
3" in the Ore Mountains last weekend and the following
ride to Trentino, we took the bike shuttle up onto the Tremalzo
totally relaxed. What took place then was downhill-rock-'n-roll
of the highest degree, all the way to Riva...
But back to the "MEC 3":
After the prologue on Friday; riding up the mountain on a 3m/5km
singletrail and coming in in 8th place in my division: nursing
level, um, master 2 and after they credited me 20 seconds, what
a joke, it was in the bag...
the long ride followed on Saturday. 60m/97km with a little lap
at the beginning and a sprint up the mountain on a fiendish
cross country trail. I don't really do well on moistened meadows...
Preliminary result after the root-rubble-mud craziness: 9th
place. Sunday morning we started out taking the t-bar lift straight
as an arrow up the ski slope, for the cross-border marathon
into the Czech Republic. 44m/71km and a little bit of losing
one's way, but all that didn't matter, since wqe all had our
passports in our jersey pockets...
At the end of the day, I was in 7th place at the "Mad East
Challenge 3" in my division...
I'm going to keep quite about the fact that my teammate "Mady
Winter" and his singlespeed cashed and spent me on the
last two marathon legs...
Next Sunday the plan will be to participate here in Trentino,
in the "Paganella Bike-Marathon", the 3rd run of the
italian Rampitour series, on one of my favorite distances 26m/42km
and 4429 vertical ft/1350hm...
