,……At least for the next few months, because the last mountain
bike race of the season will be taking place within the framework
of the 20th Jesteburg People's Run, on October 7th, 2007.
Of course, Thomas and I were there and judging by the looks
we received from some of our fellow riders, we deduced that
their enthusiasm at seeing us was limited at best.
However, that didn't stop us from competing against a field
of 84 people overall.
.
We were off at 31mph/50km/h right from the start on the 6.5m/10,5km
track. Of course we weren't able to keep up with the tempo
of the rider on the Dr. Steinmeier Racing-Team and he pulled
ahead with another biker.
Thomas and I needed about another half lap in order to give
ourselves enough room and then we were free to make out amongst
ourselves, which one of us would end up in 3rd place overall.
I finished the sprint 2-3 lengths in front of Thomas, which
made me 2nd in my age division and 3rd overall.
Thomas, on the other hand, came in 1st in his age division
and 4th overall. All in all a nice conclusion with great weather.
Now, the cyclucross season has begun.
See ya,
