Since I finished 2nd after Thomas Zühlke in January at the
Cross-Race in Appenbüttel, I decided to join the Pirate-Crew,
so next year, we`re doing just a plain Pirate-Skull-Podium.
If their would be a change in the positions? I doubt…but I
really try to get at least a bit of the dust from the rear
of his(Thomas) bike…
The gap between us were pretty much, I might say, but 2nd
place overall in a lonesome race in the rain, satisfied me
at all.
Wenn, since February I´m now a Pirate and wanted to see after
the winter-break how everything still works(strength, endurance, etc).
14th place overall(made 2nd in the main age-group) at the
20k Island-Run in Wilhelmsburg(1:24:32) was my first Pysical
test for my first running-marathon in Hamburg. Sadly, I calculated
the wrong time for me at the Hamburg marathon(3:30:00), it
was a bit to much, and so, I had to overtake`n overtake frióm
far behind. I soon wondered about the calculated time from
the others, when I just passed and overrun them… Finally,
I made it(3:14:37). A time I never even thought about, because
I t was my first marathon, but I felt real comfortable.
The Carbohydrat-Party, we made the night before, seemed to
work, I just needed 1 gel during the run, I made the rest
by the catering during the race. I was really astonished,
how many gels fits on a belt of some participators. Next year
I`ll be here again, for sure, I gonna try to reach the 3:00:00,
slowly of course. Special Thanks to all Pirates supporting
me, even if we didn`t know each other(not yet).
The next event on my list, was the CC-race at the bike-day
in Lüneburg. I was pretty good, but I was surprised how hilly
it was, because I thought of a fast cross-country-course.
This picture is a little bit disadvantageous. It was just
behind the start, I started bad and soon the first began tu
shove their bikes up, and accordingly I had th push my bike
also. We were pounding like a herd of cows, but in the next
downhill part, I catched up again. At the end, I finished 10th
from 32. I could have reached the 9th place, but the race
was sooner over than I thought.
Now to the newest stuff from me. On Sunday, held the Stevens-Cup
place in Buchholz, and after the successes from Thomas and
Andre in earlier races I wanted to imitate them. That´s typical
for the younger ones... Right from start you go as fast as
you can and when you reach the mountains you getting to know
that your strength is all over now… Well, I felt like I was
the last taking the first curve and after the first rise I
was 7th from 16th
In the middle of the second last round I rode up to a rider
with red dots. We fought out a little fight, with a few burst
of speed and finally I knocked him out in the last round and
finished 4th before him. The first 3 were too far away to
reach just before time. Read my lips : next year you`ll be
mine...
It made fun, was a real nice and awesome race. Regrettably
too short with 40 minutes and only 5 rounds, Ron will contradict
me in this case, surely…. J
Summary, in the week from the 21. to 27 of june you`ll hear
more from my side, because I start at the TransGermany-race,
and want to write a story- a day/stage
Sadly, I won`t start in the Pirate-clothes, because I won
a place in the team of Fiat-Rotwild, but after a hard and
intensive exercise I will try to show the pro`s what it`s
called to be a Northern Lights. For the preparation I start
at the Marathon in Willingen. There of course I`ll try to
raise the Pirate-flag together with Ubi Blutsventje, even
if I rode in the Rotwild-clothes.
Ubi – I´m looking forward
Greetings and chain mostright!
