Senior Games
This gold medal was from the Florida Senior Games in a qualifying
race for the state championships. Each state has races that are
categorized by age starting at 50 years old so when you get to championships,
although the road races are a mass start, you are really racing
against men in your own age group (for me, that is 55 to 59 years
old).

Cross in Harburg
On the 26th of december was the tradionell Christmas Cross race
in the Harbuger Mountains…with bratwurst, hot spiced punch and everything
else which belonged to it. On the start were Robby K., Benita and
Thomas Z. The course was really difficult and hard, this means,
this year, very muddy, with some ice cubes J Rookie Be nita did
a good job…but I didn´t wanted to be I her position.

On the 13.12.2009 we went to a cross-race in Kaltenkirchen. And
it was cold, but while you´re racing, you don´t feel it very much.
The course was fast´n flat many curves and one tree trunk, where
you had to prove you ability to jump like a bunny.

Nicolas day run in Regensburg
I just wanted a change in between my winter sleep, so I decided
to participate on a 5km run side by side with the Donau-river on
a 1,66km long track. We had quite good weather, because there was
no snow at all, so it was something like comfortable.

After lots of talks with team-riders and skippers, we changed the
style of the(MTB) jersey a bit. Now it’s a a little bit more tight,
got a silicone end on the buttom, as well like straight cutted arms
and some kine of net under the arm pit, and of course to mention
a zipper on the left back side

Running
a marathon is like holidays just with pain
The year passes by and is about to end and also the long, hard season.
But a final high-point, like a marathon, would be a good thing I
thought and maybe I could reach a new personal best time. I told
my liege lord (Capt´n Speed) of my plans, and he told me the terms

Cup in Kiel and Harburg
On the 22.11.2009 we rode to Kiel for the Cross-Cup, with really
bad weather. The fast track were all wet´n muddy, like it used to
for a cross-race. I started from the last row, and were able to
see how the front places gained up speed real fast. Because there
were lots of humid greenery, I was all slippery, especially in the
curves, and it made lots of fun…

Night-Rider
Yesterday it was the time – our first Night Rider was set, but riding
thru the darknest is nothing foreign for us, because of Brevets,
just finished with the 400k, 600k and 24h race you get to know to
ride within the dark. Anyhow, the circumstances brought some new
experiences: it was cold, wet and muddy – all I learned from that
is: you never can have enough lights.

This was a heck of a race. It was cold, 30's, and mostly in the
shade of the forest. I wasn't dressed for the weather...I think
I was 1 out of 3 or 4 that did it up heavy in just a kit. At the

Stevens-Cup Hamburg and Bremen
The Stevens Cup started in Hamburg Horn. Because this race belongs
to the Germany-Cup, there were about 70 pro`s on the start. It was
my first time to ride a cross-race, so I was a little bit worried
about, just when I think about the small narrow tyres…But thanks
to Ron, I recieved my cross-frame right on time, and so the things
could come to a start.

Last saturday at the 2nd MBH-Benefit-Performance-Run in Ibbenbüren-Uffeln
started 4 sportsmen from Rheine. For Christine and Rouwen was it
the first race of their life. There were about 230 starters for
the 5km track.

from Regen gains the bronze medal at the Retro-Race World Championship
in Maibrunn !
Last sunday in was the 2nd Nostalgia-Bike-World Campionship 2009
in Maibronn – St. Englmar. Everyone could participate who had an
old bike with no shifting gear and you had to wear old historic
stuff. You had to ride a 2km round course with a fast downhill part
and a steep uphill, you had to go for two rounds.

Sugar Loaf race
is one of the largest and toughest races on the Florida racing calendar.
It is contested on a very, very hilly course with "real feel" temperatures
of over 100 degrees F. One of the riders that I coach, Jerry Rush,
won his category in this race last year. I trained Jerry very hard
for this years race with 400 plus miles training weeks and lots
of hill work.

am 12. September gings zum Vulkanbike Marathon nach Daun. Das ist
nicht weit vom Nürburgring und aufgewachsen bin ich in der Gegend
auch noch. Dieses Rennen zu entern war also schon lange überfällig.
Bei schönem Spätsommerwetter gings um 10 Uhr auf die 60 km Runde
mit etwa 13oo hm.

I went, as the only female PIRATE, with a 8-headed female team of
my old home-club“Ski & Bike Deggendorf“ to the italian Brenta-Dolomites

because we were the only german female team.

The last but one Race of the Premier League in Kolbermoor, I received
important points for the Premier League ranking list. Everything
went well on Saturday, during the pre-finals I could finish as 2nd,3rg

to participate again in Hamburg over the Olympic disctance on the
26.07.2009 at the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championships.

So ripped it right from the start...got to the top of the hill in
front of the pack...and just as we're about to hit the dirt path
that loops down to the first chunk of single track, a cute little
girl (probably 3 years old) rolls out on a tricycle into the middle
of the track. The guy to my left locks up the brakes and washes
out as do I..and I'm hoping no one runs this little girl over or
it's going to get gnarly. Where were the parents???

got something new. We´ve been to Braunlage, where our ex-team mate
Olli Fuhrmann build up a new downhill park. SO, for us was nothing
else to do, than to visit him and probably to ride a little bit.

the 26th of july! Altogether there were about 7500 cycling maniacs

my first victory of the seson - at the MTB-Single time trial in
Rodenbach. At the MTB-Single time trial cross coutry race, which
belongs to the MTB trophy Saar-Pfalz, it works like that, 3 riders
each minute had to go on the 3 rounds with each 9k´s and 150m of
altitude.

4 weeks to go until my this year sporty height of the season, the
OSTSEEMAN in Glücksburg near Flensburg. Then I had an idea, I could
visit my dad in Flensburg again and maybe I could take a look at
the bike/run course of the OSTSEEMAN, but the visit of my dad was
the first priority… I was accommodated in a quite house and soon,
even the milkman knew what you need the most in a training camp...

Karlsfelder Triathlon on the 19. july 2009
After this year contest premier at the Tegernsee Triathlon, I started
last weekend in Karlsfeld. About 1000 starters wanted to compete,
and almost 500 from them over the olympic distance. All after each
other we started in small starting blocks in the Karlsfelder Lake.
Because of heavy rain falls on the the day before, the lake had
only 17degrees.

a great time! From the 9th to the 12th 2009 of july, were in the
Czech town of Pilsen and Louny 5 assesments. My highlicght was in
a sporty kind of sight, the single-time-trial over a distance of
15km, at the last day in Louny.

& Renate, the PIRATE Southern Dream Team at the "hardest mountain
bike race in the dolomites" (12.07.09):
Quite recently, everything went well for the both Pirates from the
bavarian forest on the MTB. But only at the DOLOMITI SUPERBIKE”the
hardest mountain bike race in the Dolomites” with a total of 3,525
starters out of 28 different nations, nothing went like it should
be… Jörg´s bike did noit want to work like it should do and for
Renate after 4 weeks inrury lay-off and not being healed up again.
She ended up her podium sub on the 12th of july. Well, on this 60,5km,
1785m altitude long course, Jörg ended up on the 51th place in his
age-group with a time of 2:57h and after 14 losses of his chain.
How Renate she ended up with a lot of powerful cramps and pains
on the 4th place in her age-group after 3:37h. But who care´s!!!

State Time Trial Championships
On May 30th, 2009, the United States Cycling Federation held
the Florida state time trial championships in Jacksonville, Florida.
Over 250 racers turned out to vie for state championships, USA Cycling
medals, and the coveted Florida State Champion jersey in the various
racing classifications. I won my division by almost 2 minutes setting
a new Florida state record for 20 kilometers. I was presented with
a beautiful state champion skin suit by my racing club, The Orlando
Road Club.

Showdown 2009: Kewaskum, WI
See that sh*t eating grin on my face? First podium appearance
+ first metal in cycling = Psyched.
It wasn't a spectacular race by any stretch, 3rd place for my age
division, 19th overall with a pretty deep field. Was 6 minutes behind
the leader which is something I will make up at the next race and
I won't be so far back. The course was hilly, dusty, and there wasn't
a lot of single track. My eyes, throat, and lungs were burning from
all the dust but I had fun.

anchor at Nice the stress of all the preparations and travel had

Transalp Challenge 2009 (part 4)
Well, it could be so nice. 8 degrees at the start and at 1500m we
had snowfall. The first stage was cancelled. The transfer was made
by bus. Willy and myself had the luck to drive with the caravan
from our masseur. Otherwise we had to wait until 13:00,because the
transfer was being made after start numbers. Now, we´re sitting
with 6 persons in the camper. Later we gonna go to Reith in the
Alpbachtal. Let´s hope that we can report from the stage tomorrow.

Transalp Challenge 2009 (part 2)
So...the next station was the Bucholzer MTB cup! My weight 80 kg,
amount of km´s 530. This is one oy my favourite races. Here I´ve
been really succesful in the past. The course got a zig-zag pattern
it goes constantly up and down. The course doesn´t make only fun,
even the folks from RSG Nordheide cause a real good atmpssphere
and for refreshments. I gotta say, that your body doesn´t follow
your head everytime.

Transalp Challenge 2009 (part1)
So, the start of the TAC is about to begin. Here you get a small
overview of my start preparations. After my hibernate(winter sleep)
I gained a few pounds instead of like the bears in nature loosing
it. I gained abou 30pounds this winter…good foo, lots of sleep and
a lack of movement, my scale told me 83 kil´s…well, I thought….until
the start of the TAC it should be only 70kilo´s.

Traditionally at saturday High Noon were the start of the bike-marathon
in Albstadt with 86km to go and about 1600 altitude. We were lucky
about the weather, while we had dark clouds, but no rain drop and
even the temperatures were acceptable, when I think of the bike-marathon
two years ago, when you thought not if, but when will I get a sunstroke.

My run on the interstate got limited because of a 73k shoulder work.
But finally shoulder work was over, and suudenly by about 150km/h
an eagle crashed in my car, in the front windscreen. So, because

After a few problems with the registration, we drove to a race in
Winterberg.We arrived early on Wednesday, but although it was difficult
to get a good camping site in the paddock. This event was like an
union of all downhill slopestylers and 4crossers. Thursday were
a day off, because on th course were a rookie race. But it wasn´t
boring after all, but the Downhill course were only 14 k long, and
the altitude were missing in Sauerland

long way to Nice - Part 3: Who ordered that pizza?
That was close! Towards to the end of a 180km ordeal, including
a severe temperature drop and hard rain, I found out what it means
when a manhole cover has your name on it. While going out of the
saddle, I suddenly found myself and the bike skidding over the tarmac.
Luckily, no serious injuries except ... "Road Pizza"!

the 1st Harzer-MTB-Cup to Clausthal-Zellerfeld. I decided to start

50% we had just the Shirts, the Pants were still in the sewing-machine…
Sadly the Lake Garda Bike-Marathon is meanwhile a real Big-Event
with over 2000 Starters, and cause of that huge amount of Participants
at the first Uphill Passage in Arco it came to traffic jams and
you had to shove your Bike…

Time-Trial in Schönsee
The First race of the Season 2009 of the OTV-Mountainbike-Cup-Series
was with a length of 4.580 meters and 300DA(Difference in Altitude)
a real hard nut to crack for a season-opener. The Mountain.Time-Trial
attracted in the main race 78 Riders to the start. In the matter
of fact, that I took on Monday my last antibiotic pills, I ve been
very satisfied with 8th place overall and 5th in my Age-Group.

After my Canary-Island-Marathon-Tour in Spring, I stood for the
first time at the start line on the continent in this Season, in
Bella Italia at the Rocky Mountain Bike Marathon. With awesome good
“LAGO”weather, the race started at 7:30 in the morning. MY legs
felt good and with very effective exercise by my trainer “Dr.Yoni”,
I could let the race getting started, the Ronda Piccola with 53k`s
and 1700DA(Difference in altitude)…

I travelled with a common cold to the Marathon in Münsingen. It
rained, rained and rained. Because I have a cold, I made myself
no stress at the Startline and queued myself up in the very last
line(Because I did not want to get may Pulse over 170 Beats per
minute and of course I didn`t wanted to stand in someones light).

Premier League Start in Königsbrunn.
On Friday – 8 Riders and 1 person in charge – a Car rental fully
packed up to the roof. After 8,5 hours car journey, we made it to
Königsbrunn. 331 starters on Saturday – first exercise to get to
know the of the course. Than at 12:00 o`clock all the thrill started.

in Hellental at the 5.4.09
Without Sun, but also without Rain about 283 MTB-Riders started
to overcome the stiffy Town uphill passage(Stairway to hell). Afterwards
the course went on Forest and gravel ways, as well as Single-Trails
to the next uphill roadway, just before the participants had to
prove there ride controls on the Downhill passage of the Solling
FunFare.

Good Start in the MTB Season of 2009 !
Andre and myself went Highly Motivated in the MTB Season of 2009
: For the 18th time, there`ve been the MTB-Race(Helmuts Highwy to
Hell) in Meudelfitz/ Hitzacker. IN the startefield of 60 Riders
was also the Pro Fabian Brzezinksi, according to that Andre and
myself tried to concentrate on the 2nd and 3rd place.

long way to Nice - Part 2
Sunlight over Hessia! I was about to ask what this bright object
in the sky was supposed to be.
As with all good things: One gets used to them rapidly and forgets
all the rigor. As for instance the descent from the hill above Wald-Michelbach:
Enjoying 1 degree Celsius and drizzle, shortly after nightfall.
It was carnival and emerging from the fog were figures done up in
masquerade. From the hill shone an eery light that usually belongs
to the guestroom of a hotel called "The Sun". The gloves had long
turned into cooling elements.

Bad News from the Cap – Don is out. And even the struggle from Andreas
wasn`t rewarded. At the Tradionally 1st and super hard stage from
Cape Epic, he had to surrender after 90km at the last Food Supply
Point. The weakness by the flu was to strong. We`ll give you more
information about this tomorrow, today we`re under this cirumstances
very touched by this.

long way to Nice - Part 1
There I was, running on an open field covered in icy fog. Gloves,
cap, eyebrows and everything else was growing crystalline structures
of alien beauty. Even out here, quite a bit away from town, the
air was still thick with smog from the heating and the cars. Later
in the shower I would experience myself coughing out residue.
