On June 30th, the TriFun took place on Pellworm with 100 starters (single and relay).

At a wind force of 6 and what felt like a 64F/18C degree North Sea, I entered in the sprint distance of 0.3/12.4/3.1 miles (0,5/20/5 kilometers).

Due to the force of the waves and the current, the swim was relocated, so that we had to go ashore twice. My bath in the North Sea was over after about 10 minutes.

The 12.4m/20km to the lighthouse and back began with a tailwind of up to 32mph/52km/H and only 12.4mph/20km/H of headwind on the way back and ended after about 40 minutes.

The final 3.1m/5km run on the dyke followed similar rules, only they were the exact opposite: headwind, then tailwind.

In the end, I came in 16th overall (1:14:25). They didn't have age divisions…
