2nd Mönchengladbacher Nordpark Duathlon (1st of may)

Moin Moin Piratas, The status of „fully booked“ were reached soon after a couple of weeks, and this is a good certification, how good this event is. The „ Nordpark“ ( supporters of Gladbach, know, what I´m talking about) is easy to reach, just follow the signs on the interstate, and no problems of finding a parking lot. Eben in the 2nd year, everything was fantastic at this duathlon: organization, course, helping hands, weather and food supply… Just a contest, which provides lots of fun… The rush for the release of the starting numbers were so big, the they had to delay the start for 10minutes. So, we started with the run part at 10:10o´clock on the 5km course, one of the access road to the stadium. Soon, the field of runners were torn apart, not only because of the heavy winds, even because of the compulsive crash of a runner, which stasrted from the front row, but wasn´t that fast enough…I found a real good group and changed after 18:25min on my bike. On the flat a fast bike-course with a length of 20km( of course fully blocked), you had to ride three times, and even on bike course, the fierce wind found some preys, but I think for time-trial specialist ( greetings to Marco Pfeifers and chiKKen) is this course really interesting. And finally you had to run 2,5km again…and again heavy head-winds. Doesn´t matter, I finished 30th of 230 overall and 8th of 37 in my age-group (45) with a time of 1:04:01(18:25/35:54/09:41) and were all satisfied with it. By the way, Jens Rademacher ( Dülkener SV) won the race, of course with a Pirate-dress. Well??? Is he already a member??? I didn´t have the time to ask him... Stay sportmanlike!
