Berlin Velothon... just for fun ;)

For the short term, Stephan and myself got the idea of participate at the Velethon in Berlin on the 120km distance. But how should we get the starting lots??? One the one side is Ebay a perfect origin, but Stephan called his friend at Upsolut and received himself a starting lot, my lot, stood at 5,-€ at Ebay, when Enrico  wrote me at Facebook, that I could get his lot.

Now it was time to move on…9:20 was the start, so we gotta be there 20minutes before it…the travel to Berlin last 2hours with half an hour of spare time, so I picked up Stephan at 6:30 in the morning. But somehow maybe thru the drift off the tectonic plates, Berlin was further away from Hamburg than we thought...or maybe it was because of the speed limit of 120/130 or at the shoulder work section 60km/h, a sign was just missing, traffic calmed strret.

Because of that, we arrived on the last minute in Berlin, fastly we found a parkin lot at the Prenzlauer Allee and un-packed our bikes…we made our way to the starting line, with almost 40km/h, and maybe we didn´t stop at all red traffic lights.

In one fell, we were there, now just find Ben and Berjan in starting block D, but where´s Stephan, he just wanted to get his starting number from block E???
One moment later, my mobile, Stephan, I´m in block G…don´t start that fast, wait for me, I´ll be right with you…

But...we didn´t see Stephan anymore, but at least we had fun, even without Stephan.

shortly before the finish, Ben and Berjan doesn´t look that well….
By the way, respect for Ben´s bike, ist a heirloom of his uncle ;-)

Afterwards we drank a coffee at Thomas Bartel, who only rode the 60km distance this year, and we all decided that we would rode again next year this race, but than all the 120km distance with an average speed of 40km/h, at this point, we´re 8 guys.

If you´re interested, please inform me and train yourself to ride while drafting and the Belgian circle ;-)
