In the women´s race over the Olympic distance the German Anne Haug wanted to show a solid race and wanted to test her material before the ITU World-Cup race in Kitzbühel. After a bigger gap after the shorten swimming the was able to catch up with the leading group after 10km just to pull away and to reward herself on this hard exercise unit with the victory here at the Schliersee.
At the men´s race, the team of Buschhütten started with the winner of the last 4 years. Former winner Laurent Vidal (FRA), decided himself for the tactic: all or nothing, and succeeded with it.
The course: Swimn (1,5 km)
1500 m triangular course. Water extra class, wonderful Alp-scenery. The perfect beginning…
Bike-course (40 km) :
Really ambitious bike course with a wonderful scenery and ascent with up up 16%. Classic, the last ascent up to the Spitzing-lake, feeling like riding the Tour de France. A dream and a have to for every triathlete.
run course (10 km):
Three loops right thru the mountains of Valepp and all around the Spitzing-lake, while the 2nd and the 3rd loop are equal. The course leads you over street and paths, right thru a wonderful landscape. Cherry on the cake…

The weather conditions weren´t the best, but at least it should stay dry throughout the day.
Starting of the swim part in several waves.
So, you could find your own way thru the lake.
Because of this, I had to swim without a spending water shadow over the 1500m.
No good start – and so I went on the bike course…
But soon I found my rhythm and became more confident. My legs felt good.
The short but steep ascents and the fast downhill sections ( Vmax90km/h) was what I like and were able to pass more and more.
Not even the last ascent up to the Spitzingsattel, I had to worry about, even, you weren´t able to see very much because of the clouds.
The change to the running part, went without any problems and I felt, that I would be able to finish today under 2:30h. Fully concentrated I started the run and soon found my style, which is not easy on this course.
When I crossed the finish line, I knew it, that everything worked…
